This premium Peruvian blend from South America can handle a hotter roast, giving the coffee an oily appearance. The characteristic flavour is smoky, slightly bright and clean.
The coffee is purchased every year from the same group of farmers in the Santa Rosa and Cutervo districts of the department of Cajamarca. The supporting environmental conditions, the rich quality of the soil and the farmers’ extensive experience growing the finest coffees mean that the coffee is naturally of consistently outstanding quality.
The plantations are situated at a far distance from the cities, which is an advantage for aiding the production of organic coffee. The growing environment is kept in its natural state and the coffee trees are grown mainly in the shade of native trees. harmful chemical fertilizers are never needed because the fertile soil itself acts as a rich and natural fertilizer created by the wealth of organic matter accumulated over the years as the native trees drop their leaves.
